In 1933, Tex Avery lost the sight in his left eye after it got hit by a paper clip shot with a rubber band by co-worker and fellow animator, Charles Hastings.
Some early Disney animators would trace different sized coins for Mickey's head, belly, and ears.
They used real rouge make up on Snow White's cheeks when painting the animation cels to give her a more "natural" and "glowing" look.
